Of course, we have to start with the types of welding by talking about resistance welding, which is a thermoelectric process in which heat is generated by passing an electric current in the area of union of the parts to be joined with a controlled time, precision and pressure.

Types of mig welding

This is one of the most developed techniques, and there are many processes based on this principle. To achieve welding, an electrical power source (either direct or alternating current) is used to melt the metals.

Tungsten gas arc welding, or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. In this process, the electrode is tungsten and is not consumed, and inert or semi-inert gases are used as shielding. Submerged arc welding. In this technique, a granular shielding material is used, which is applied as a constant flux over the arc, hiding the light and smoke generated by the process. The shielding material insulates the weld from atmospheric contamination, generates a slag that protects the weld and can contribute to the formation of alloys. In addition, it can be reused. This process is used on an industrial scale.
